Joseph P. Kenney III was the guest of Martina and Kim Bowersox, Monterey CA and I was invited to hear him speak about Foreign Affairs.
The affable yet powerful Kennedy name put aside, this young politician spoke candidly and openly about his trip to Afghanistan and thoughts about the potential problems with North Korea. Engaging with a youthful grin and warm handshake, he maintained eye contact, readily admitted when he did not have an answer to a question and answered directly about issues presented on his seated committees.
Passionate about education, Kennedy is a Stanford graduate and Harvard educated lawyer that spent time in the Peace Corp. As a freshman congressman, I asked Lauren, his wife, if he slept on the sofa as many new congressmen are doing of late. She assured me that was not the case! A good head on the boy’s shoulders!
